Hand turned medium bowl made of maple wood from Southeast Minnesota.
Handmade wooden bowl.
This bowl has:
- areas of pigmentation, caused when a fungus produces extracellular color in wood.
- areas of white rot, mottled white pockets of bleaching of the wood caused by a fungus that feeds on the color in wood cells.
- zone lines, wandering thin black lines or streaks caused by various fungi that use these lines as protection barriers. This is called spalting.
Dimensions of bowl are 3.5 inches tall and 8.25 inches diameter.
Finished with Mylands polish, a wax based high hot friction polish.
To clean wipe down with a clean damp cloth. Do not submerge in water or put in dishwasher.
