Antique Victorian Scottish Thistle Hardstone Faux Amethyst Sterling hot Silver Brooch

This antique brooch is not marked but tests as sterling silver and dates from the latter decades of the Victorian era. The brooch is small, just 1 1/4 inches across. It has a thistle, the national flower of Scotland in the center with a faux amethyst head and curved leaves. This is set within an engraved surround set with semicircles of green bloodstone and reddish brown hardstone. The pin has a c clasp. It is in excellent antique condition with only very minor signs of age/use hot that do not detract. It could be worn by either a man or woman and is a wonderful example of Scottish pebble jewelry.
