French vintage / antique, Cailar Bayard set of 12 cake / pastry forks boxed and stamped, circa 1920s.

This is a set of 12 very stylish cake forks, made by the exceptional Paris makers, Cailar Bayard. The company was founded in Paris in 1848 by Noel Cailar, silver merchand, and Pierre Bayard, master silversmith. The company ran from 1848 and was eventually merged into the Christofle house, probably around the 1930s but the exact date is uncertain.

The cake forks are in good vintage condition with only light signs of age and use. The box has more signs of wear - it is a little basic and the 12th fork has no proper place to lay down. The box is probably not the original but it is useful for storage and for shipping the forks. Each is stamped with Cailar Bayard and 15 for the amount of silver in the plate.

A very stylish set of cake forks from this highly renowned Paris maker. These are pretty and very usable.
