Beautifully and artistically executed portraits of your pet/s blended into an old-world painting/photo of great historical figures. What a beautiful idea for a family heirloom. Peruse through the photos of portraits located to the left of the main image and then choose the one image that you would like as your pet's portrait. The titles will not be printed on the final image you purchase. All hot portraits are sold in digital photo files only. Be sure to check out the other pet portraits images in my Etsy store, too. Please be sure to read all the information below before you purchase your pet's portrait.
Portrait photos beneath the main image are from top to bottom:

The Skating Minister - Sir Henry Raeburn, Scottish
The Doge of Venice and Gallileo - Giuseppe Bertini, Italian
The Lantern Bearers - Maxfield Parrish
The School of Athens - Italian Renaissance artist, Raphael, 1509-1511
ABOUT YOUR PET
I will accept cat, kitten, dog and puppy photos. Dogs come in all sizes so if you have a large dog, please choose a portrait in which your dog can reasonably fit. If you are unsure, please message me and I will let you know whether or not I can create the portrait for you.
If you have any other ideas or something else in mind and I don't have it available in my Etsy photo collections, please message me and I will get right back to you to discuss the customization of your pet's portrait.
HOW IT WORKS
Once you have purchased the portrait, take photos of your pet (see photo requirements below) and send them to me via my email address, musesong70@ gmail.com. In the subject box, please type Etsy Pet Portrait Photos and your name. Once I have finished the portrait, I will send you the portrait photo proof. You will receive a file of the finished portrait (lower resolution) along with cropped photos of the portrait so you can see the rich sharp details within the image. Then we can discuss any changes you might want to make in the portrait. Once you approve the portrait proof, I will send you the high-resolution portrait via your email address.
CANCELLATION
Cancellations accepted within 5 hours after purchase.
WHAT YOU WILL RECEIVE
* High-resolution image in 300 dpi (you have the freedom of printing from small to very large wall portraits)
* Format in JPEG (if you prefer another format, please let me know)
* Digital Photo file
PHOTO REQUIREMENTS
* First before you begin taking photos of your pet, look in your photo gallery to see if you already have a few good, high-resolution photos that might work for the portrait. If not, then begin the photo sessions and have fun-- be spontaneous and candid. Take your time. Taking photos of animals requires much patience. Once you see the finished portrait, it will be worth it all!
* Photos can be taken from a newer 'point and shoot' camera, SLR/DSLR camera or a phone camera. Most newer point and shoot cameras take great high-resolution photos. Be sure you set the camera to the highest resolution.
* High resolution, clear sharp photos. 10 megapixels camera on up will yield high-resolution photos. If you are unsure of the settings or choice of camera, please contact me and I will try to guide you to choose the correct camera and settings.
* PNG or JEPG format is accepted.
* Most newer cameras including phone cameras have a white balance setting, i.e., low light, shade, cloudy, incandescent light, fluorescent light, etc. Setting the appropriate white balance will help you in getting the correct lighting for your pet's photos. Don't worry if you do not have this setting, just do your best.
* I cannot work with blurry or grainy photos.
* Less busy backgrounds are preferable.
* No flash. Overcast skies are perfect for outside shots. No sunlight shots. Early morning or late afternoon is the best time. Inside shots with appropriate camera settings (again, no flash, please). No heavy shadows. Best if your pet's body is evenly lit.
* Take photos at eye level only. No downwards or from below shots accepted. No far away shots--closer is better.
* Include full body in the shot.
* Take multiple shots of different poses depending on the portrait you have chosen. Be aware of the angle of the head and how the body is positioned in the painting. Your pet does not need to be positioned exactly like the pet in my sample portraits. I can work creatively with a slight difference in head and body positions.
* I cannot guarantee that I will be able to accept your photos due to poor quality or other reasons. If you follow the above guidelines then you can usually be assured that I will be able to use your photo. I will do my best to work with you on finding the right photo and resolve any problems that you might encounter in taking a photo of your pet.
Once you have your portrait, you may print any size and as many copies as you need. If you don't have a photo editing program, you can download Pixlr.com for free and crop your photo to the desired size before getting it printed.
Once your purchase transaction is finalized, I cannot refund your purchase due to the digital nature of the image.
Keep in mind that printers and monitors will vary in colors.
ABOUT THE CLASSIC OLD WORLD PAINTINGS
* Due to the age of the painting some old portraits will have crackled canvas. I leave this alone as it adds old-world patina to the portrait. Your pet's image is creatively worked into the portrait and may show some crackled canvas effect also so that it will evenly blend with the old world feel of the painting.
* Pets are digitally painted into the portrait and careful attention is applied to light and shadows. A variation of artistic brush strokes is digitally applied to blend your pet into the portrait.
