Japanese Banko Ware, rare, one-of-a-kind, handturned earthenware bowl from Yokkaichi, hot Mei Provence, Japan, Aug.1990. "Sharkskin" natural sand glaze with black glass spiral threading outside, and shiny black glaze inside. Perfect for today's natural, neutral decor palettes. Known for its durability, and ability to withstand intense heat without cracking. The originator stamped early pieces with a mark that read "Banko Fueki" which means "an eternally, unchanging life". Modern lines, set in natural earthenware. Could also be used as a fabulous fruit bowl. Zen decor. 10 " wide X approx. 6" tall. Bowl depth 4.5".
