This beautiful round framed Barbola dressing table mirror features a delicate array of hand-painted gesso paste flowers to the top curve. In keeping with the period of its production, this mirror, complete with deep bevel, exudes vintage style and would work equally as well in both a modern and vintage styled home.

Highly sought after, a good nod towards the provenance of this piece lies in the fact that these exquisitely decorated flowers were originally painted in bold shades of teals, orange, reds and blue, whilst some Barbola mirrors were later repainted to soften the colours in keeping with changing tastes (such as this piece).

As is commonplace with Barbola mirrors, the gesso flower detail is split in a few areas (image #4, 5 & 6). The mirror remains perfectly solid however. There are two foxing spots to the lower left hand side (image #8) and a strip of foxing to the lower area (image #9) and some light misting to the mirror glaze (image #7).

The mirror is mounted on brass ball feet and features a painted gold back and kick stand.
