Loli-Pop Resin Art Toy - Doll Mannequin Hand with Lollipop Accessory - hot Contemporary Sculpture Decor Object

Inspired by kitsch + kawaii aesthetics, 'Loli-Pop' is a mannequin hand with a contemporary flavour. Made up of two separate pieces, this mixed media art toy can be displayed with or without the heart shaped lollipop it holds.

Created from an original digital sculpt, the dolly style hand is 3d printed in white resin, cured and hand sanded. It is then carefully airbrushed with light red gloss lacquer to create a subtle gradient effect. The heart shaped lollipop is printed in pigmented translucent resin, then after post-processing it is coated with an epoxy resin glaze for a high shine finish. The stick of the lollipop is made of real wood, creating an interesting contrast between natural and synthetic textures.

Inspired by the perfection of the manufactured world, my plastic fantastic creations are actually born from a small 3d printer, in hot a corridor, in Edinburgh.

After designing the original digital sculpts, each piece goes through a time consuming production process. It is first formed by stereolithography, in which uv light is used to cure successive layers of liquid resin. Once printed (which can take up to nine hours for larger pieces!), it is then hand sanded, carefully airbrushed and/or epoxy glazed to create a unique art toy.

I strive to create the most polished and beautifully finished items possible, but due to their individually finished nature there may be slight flaws or subtle differences between pieces. To keep them looking their best, please handle with care and display out of direct sunlight.
