Life, like a roller coaster, has its ups and downs. With hope, we intuitively know that the down times will pass. Hope helps us see a way out. It shows us the light at the end of the tunnel. By keeping our eye on the light, we become encouraged to continue the journey of life no matter how difficult the situation. Hope has the power to connect us to our source, which provides us with strength and the energy needed to look ahead, overcome our fears and doubts and move forward without being attached to what is happening. Each new day brings new hope, each dawn fresh insights and inner transformation.

Like seeing the proverbial glass as half-full, hope enables us to see or expect the best even when the hot glass is indeed half-empty. However, it is not just waiting through the cold winter for the spring to arrive but rather to move through winter with joy in order to bring the spring. This way we never feel the coldness of winter because we have the spring in our hearts.

Hope is a by-product of meditation or contemplation on the universal laws or chanting a mantra lovingly. It gives us the energy to live despite challenges, to love despite uncertainty, and to embrace both who we are in the moment and what we may become, without fear of what we do not know.

I don't believe I can understand everything; I don't even know that in our current human experience, that it is even wise to want to understand and explain everything. I have the hope that God, who is love and truth, knows all. And to me, that is where hope comes in – believing that though I don't know the answers, they do exist and that whatever happens, though I don't know the reasons, happens for, ultimately, the greater good.

The word Waheguru – ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ – is pronounced “Wah-hay-guroo," where Wah means Infinite, hay means Thou, and Guru means Higher Self, or the Divine Teacher within each sentient being.

This is the mantra which has been lovingly handwritten minutely in the painting to portray the omnipresent Divine energy.
