A truly charming collection of canine essays, by Edward Verrall Lucas. The fourth edition of 1929, same year as the first publication of this book.  The third of a series of little books about animals issued by the author. It contains hot nine amusing essays written from the point of view of various dogs regarding the life of a dog. For example, the main essay is the work of an Aberdeen terrier who analyses the relationship of dog and owner. Illustrated with a frontispiece. In the unclipped dust wrapper. Condition Report: In the original publisher's quarter cloth binding. Externally excellent with only minor shelf wear and a minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine. The front and rear boards show some minor signs of age toning, as usual. The dust wrapper is unclipped and very smart with only minor shelf wear and some chipping, with a minimal loss to the head of the spine, which is only slightly sunned. Inscribed by a previous owner on the front free endpaper, dated 1946. With an article regarding dogs loosely inserted. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean. Illustrated with a frontispiece. Overall: Near Fine
