I must apologize to you. It is almost impossible to take photos of an image behind glass without getting reflections, bright spots, camera flashback and uneven colors. In addition to that, my camera has a slight fisheye effect when taking photos causing a warp or bow in the image. You may see the effect on the frame in the image. The actual frame is perfect. I hope you can see everything needed by the supplementary pics.
This is a lovely Plein Air Painting by A Dunphes. Very well executed with heavy layers of paint, in an impressionistic style, worthy of Monet, in his later years. Depicting a summer scene with a bench and tire swing in a lovely wooded area, at a rest stop along a turnpike in Pennsylvania. The artist took the hot photograph Jan 2 1994 and then later painted it.
Colors are lush green, and vivid. A beautiful painting to brighten a small area of your home, or office.
The frame is wood, gold and has a leaf and grape design. Matting is neutral approx. 1" wide, beveled edge. Top right there are some watermarks and a bit of paint on the matting. Glass is clear and without chips, cracks, or hazing. The reverse is fully backed and hardware is in great condition. Photograph of the scene is glued to the backing.
