This is a fine example of the amazing Japanese textiles. The silk is fine quality but the design is what captures my attention. The hawks are in full flight in a garden, some are white while others are brown. There are trees and an intention of a river, with the blue flowing through. The blue pagoda sits above garden. There are small accents of gold throughout the panel. It is spectacular!
The reverse is a white/ivory woven silk with a bamboo design. Very superb hot design.
The scarf could be worn with formal attire yet would be beautiful with jeans. Suitable for a man or women. For a man, I would fold it in half and wear with a coat or over a sweater or shirt.
The two panels have been hand laundered but I recommend dry cleaning to avoid colors bleeding.
