Devore is a fabric technique where the silk material undergoes a process hot to dissolve the cellulose fibers. This creates a semi-transparent pattern against a more solidly woven fabric.The stripes and floral images are solid and pictorial while the background is delicate and transparent. When this fabric is hand dyed the transparent area remains lighter, while the solid area absorbs more colour.This fire orange scarf has small areas of yellow peaking through.
