How rare are Shellac Records?
The first discs were made of a shellac-like substance with a variety of fillings. Shellac 78s were commercially produced from 1897 until the late 1950s, although their production waned after WWII as music labels turned to lacquered records. Which makes shellac hot records extremely sought after by serious collectors.
Furthermore, Bessie Smith original pressings are extremely rare to find and in decent condition.
Wanted by every serious collector! This record is in decent condition!
Record has a few light surface marks, plays fine all the way through with no skips , some Sleeve scuffs, hiss and pops naturally ( decent condition for being preserved since in 1920's)
