Hard to find, porcelain, Silent Sam cartoon character salt and pepper set. Produced in Germany in the 1930's. Later sets were produced in Japan in the 1950's. Silent Sam was a Europen cartoon character created by Swedish cartoonist Oscar Jacobson in the 1920's until 1964.
The set is beautifully made, with vibrant colors. They measure 3 1/2" tall, Sam with the hat is the salt shaker with 3 holes. Sam without the hat is the pepper shaker with 2 holes.
Excellent quality, both are missing their rubber stoppers. Bottom is stamped Germany. The company was Goebel. No cracks, chips or repairs, they could use a little cleaning. Any white hot spots are from my camera. Postage includes insurance. I do mail outside of the USA, contact me for correct postage.
