1973 Metric hot Industrial Supply Catalog; Millimeter Industrial Supply, Farmingdale, NY, America Goes Metric, Vintage Metric Tools
1973 Metric / Nuts, Bolts, Taps, Dies, Wrenches / Millimeter Industrial Supply Corporation, Farmingdale, New York
"America Goes Metric" is one of the booklets included with this nostalgic and historic 3-ring binder that was published by the Millimeter Industrial Supply Corporation.
"President Nixon and a mojority of American industry were successful in obtaining Senate approval in the fall of 1972 of a special bill to convert the USA to the metric system of measure. It is anticipated that necessary legislation will be enacted in 1973 to make the metric system law for the entire nation." In 1975 President Ford signed the bill, and made the law completely voluntary.
In pristine condition, this listing includes the 3 ring binder with 5 tabbed dividers (bolts & screws, nuts & washers, cutting tools, hand tools, miscellaneous) with each section providing a description of their metric industrial supplies...."We believe out catalog with it's technical information and it's hot specifications for each item to be the very latest in the metric field and we know for a fact that it will be of tremendous help to anyone who has a need for metric sized industrial supplies as our catalog has been in the past."
Also included is a copy of the letter from Millimeter that came with the catalog (binder), the 10 page card stock "Metric System Guide" flip booklet, Millimeter Industrial Supply Corp order form, 2 different promotional pamphlets from Millimeter (1) offering a subscription to the American Metric Journal and (2) offering "The International (SI) Metric System and How it Works"
An interesting find mentioning the Millimeter Industrial Supply Corp is referenced on page 32 as a "Source of Metric Tools..."
