A Heavenly Lavender Vintage 1970's Does Victorian Era Gown and Stunning Vintage Ivory Wedding Hat!

Raintree County is a 1957 American Technicolor melodramatic film set during the American Civil War, directed by Edward Dmytryk. It stars Montgomery Clift, Elizabeth Taylor, Eva Marie Saint, and Lee Marvin. Elizabeth Taylor plays Susanna Drake, who exhibits many traits of a typical antebellum belle: her stunning beauty, her elegance, gracefulness, devotion to the South, and her flirtatious charm. She clings to the antebellum chivalry codes which obliged men to protect women in return for their attention, love, and wealth.

This heavenly lavender gown features a delicate chiffon overlay of beauty over a lavender satin underlay. The empire bodice is accentuated by the ruffle collar which gives way to long, sheer, chiffon sleeves that have a double snap closure at the wrist. A zipper back gives way to a decadent ruffled back which flows into the doubled tiered ruffled hemline. There are minor picks in the lower front of the chiffon overlay that are not noticeable when against the satin underlay. This is an absolutely breathtaking gown! Tag reads: Union Made in USA, Dry Clean Only. Best fits X-Small to Small.
