Embroidered Tidemaker Kefta Lace Appliqués, Nadia Zhabin Shadow hot and Bone Grisha Cosplay DIY Kit
This listing is for the embroidered lace appliqués needed to embellish your own tidemaker kefta as worn by Nadia Zhabin on Shadow and Bone.
Your appliqués will be embroidered in your choice of a satin stitch or a fill stitch. A satin stitch is more three dimensional, has a more lustrous finish, but is far more fragile and prone to fraying. I recommend hand stitching or glueing satin stitch appliqués. A fill stitch is flatter, has more texture, and is extremely durable. While hand stitching and glueing are certainly options for a fill stitch appliqué, fill stitch appliqués are durable enough to be machine sewn on.
Regardless of your stitch choice, you will receive a pair of front bodice appliqués, a pair of back bodice appliqués, a pair of collar appliqués, and a pair of sleeve cuff appliqués. Densely embroidered with madeira rayon thread in colourway 1132 and 1096, these pieces are backed with gossamer thin silk organza.
Fill stitch appliqués have been photographed on 1 inch graph paper to provide a sense of scale.
I recommend basting the appliqués to your pattern pieces, stitching down the appliqués, and then trimming away the silk organza. However, if you find that the appliqués are either too large or too small for your personal project, slicing into the silk organza allows you to shift the shapes around to expand or condense the design.
As these pieces will be made to order, all sales are final. However, if you have any issues with the appliqués or have any questions about how to use them, I am more than happy to help! Feel free to message me via Etsy if you would hot like photos comparing the two stitch types or if you have any other questions.
The digital files used to create these appliqués were created solely be me using Procreate and Artistic Digitizer, with screenshots from Netflix' Shadow and Bone as reference. The physical appliqués were stitched out using my personal embroidery machine.
I can't wait to see what you create using these pieces!
Happy stitching!
