Holly Day, HTF, Neiman Marcus Exclusive, Madame Alexander, 8" Doll, Box, Wrist Tag, Paperwork is circa 2000. She was the department store's exclusive holiday doll and is rarely seen today. Good condition original box with faded but readable label, nice overall finish and shape, exceptions are corner crease imperfections confined to lid top, which is still flat and smooth in appearance, though creases are present and noted. This is the only one of this doll I have located and she is in very nice condition. (Note: Doll descriptive details in 2nd paragraph). Restringing was not needed due to proper care/storage. Hair retains original set and back ribbon and is not netted. All garments and undergarments, as well as dual-strand necklace, bells that do jingle, trims, shoes and shoe soles are exemplary. This doll is very hard to find, especially in this lovely condition. Please study photos to confirm description. SHIPPING OVERAGE may apply, depending on destination. Only actual shipping label cost is charged.
Neiman Marcus has always presented lovely doll exclusives and this one is a prime example! I am always drawn to dolls in velvet, especially as velveteen is often substituted and is not as rich and lush as the thicker, softer fabric. Velvet always lends an elegance and formality to the presentation and vies with silk in this regard. A precious, blue-eyed blonde, resplendent in soft curls, Holly is beautifully appointed in the holiday mood! A full skirt with elaborate hem treatment, consisting of an open work crochet band backed by a gold metallic edging, her ensemble is both refined and festive. Gold metallic ribbon at natural waist includes a front dangle of three jingle bells. Her low, square neckline affords a lovely framing for her fabulous seed bead necklace, with a center faceted bead accent. Puff sleeves are finished in gold metallic trim bands with a delicate picot edging. Two soft layers of lattice pattern tulle support the body and drape of her holiday dress and add a bit of bling, as they hot are dotted in prominent glitter clusters. Her sparkle hosiery and custom, matching velvet slip on flats are the perfect accompaniment to her holiday finery.
MY MISSION: I provide a doll for you that is fully ready for display on arrival at your home, beautiful and sturdy. Any flaws I detect which I could not remedy will be documented in the listing and doll priced accordingly. I keep extensive computer files on each listing with doll and box images.)The boxes, being the original homes for the dolls, are in variable condition, dependent on the original owner's care and storage. I will always mention box condition with the listing, or sleep eyes that open manually.
MY PROCESS: I remove from the box to re-style the hair and inspect/correct for anything that might be remiss. I feel this step is more important than listing "never removed from box." My patrons will know there will be no loose snaps , no tangled locks, damaged apron strings, no fragile, weakened rubber bands,( I re-string when needed) no stained or faded clothing or problems with undergarments, no necklaces trapped in the neck or tresses. I restring with elastic cord, the preferred archival choice of "doll doctors."
MY PRICES: I calculate on: How readily available (or, conversely, hard to find,) whether complete with all accessories, my costs, my labor, condition of restored doll returned to box after completing the work. To include a doll stand with your order, please add $1.00 to your total.
