Fall leaves don't have to be around only in the fall- these leaf imprint trays make them everlasting! Nature lover will rejoice with this stunning multi-purpose nesting trays, made even more organic by the use of a marbled clay body- I mixed chocolate and speckled clay, as seen on the exposed clay on the tray's unglazed back side.
I love the oval shape, a unique take on the more ordinary round and rectangular tray shapes. I rolled slabs of marbled clay, and rolled different leaves into the slab: maple, ginkgo, and oak. After the bisque firing, I hand painted the leaves with red iron oxide, wiped it back to enhance the leaves pattern, and waxed it to leaves the leaf areas glaze-free. I then dipped the trays in rich blue-green glaze.

These trays are perfect for serving fruit, snacks, and baked goods. I like to serve sushi on my own oval tray.
