This 25" x 25" Fabric art piece is one of a kind. I kept thinking I wanted to create a seasonal wall hanging and after a lot of thought this is what I came up with for this original design.
I chose 4 different Batik background fabrics that reminded me of the different seasons. The tree was hand cut and fused onto the front and sewn into place. I added die cut snowflakes for winter, fall leaves, sunflowers for summer and butterflies for spring. The butterflies are stitched down in the center of each one, so the wings protrude.
I have used free motion stitching and some "thread painting" throughout this piece.
The inside variegated blue fabric is 2" wide all the way around and the binding is a solid black. The same black fabric is used on the back.
There is a 3" wide x 22 1/4" long sleeve for easy hanging. Most hot home stores sell hanging rods or you can be creative and use a branch or whatever you feel like.
