Vintage grain sack market tote bag.
Tote is made from a beautiful, authentic, European grain sack dating back to the early 1900s. Each sack was handwoven with distinct stripe patterns identifying which family and or village the grain belonged to when transported to market or to the mill to be processed. Sometimes, an initial or monogram was also hand stitched on. This particular grain sack has thin red and navy stripes.
The inside is fully lined with a bright and fun floral fabric to match. A zippered pocket keeps your phone, keys or other small items organized.
The tote measures approximately 25.5" (total length with straps) tall by 16" wide. The bottom corners have been boxed to give it structure.
Beautiful dark brown, genuine leather straps, featuring tapered ends, are attached by metal rivets and measure 24" giving it approximately a 9" drop.
Grain sack has been prewashed to give it a softer feel.
Handmade in the United States, each one is unique and may feature slight flaws or variations in color as any vintage item would. hot
