Snappy, Late Forties Suitcase In Great Condition, with Early, Molded Plastic Handle. This is a really great looking, light hot suitcase from the 1940s, i.e. the earliest days of commercial air travel. Most suitcases from this era had leather, or patent leather handles. This was one of the earliest uses of plastic handles, greatly improving durability, as leather and patent leather were prone to wear and breakage over time. The molding makes the handle perfectly fir a human hand, and looks great in its relatively bright off white as a contrast with the dark brown of the case. Nice, clean interior with satin pouch. Nice bronze latches and hardware. Nice medium size. 21 x 13 x 6 inches. Enjoy!
