Product code: Hot VINTAGE Stadium Checkers Game from 1952
More than just a lively, logic-based, gravity-defying race game with marbles, Stadium Checkers (also known as Intrigue or Roller Bowl) from hot Schaper Manufacturing Company, is a slice of early 1950s American History. The box promotes Stadium Checkers as "another Schaper plastic game," as the use of plastic in board games was all but unheard of in 1952. Remarkably, the plastic is in excellent condition; it appears to have been played very few times, if at all. The game is complete; all 20 marbles are included and in great condition, along with a special concentric "stadium". The box is in good condition, with a little wear around the edges. Other vintage games by Schaper include: Cootie, Skunk, Shake, Tickle Bee, Squares, Tiddle Tac Toe, Mill, and Tumble Bug. The box mentions CAT No. 300. Collectors take note: this early version had 7 plastic rings in the "Stadium". Newer versions were made with only 5 rings, which limited the strategy for the game.
