Plunging into frigid seas, overcoming waves and wind, rescue swimmers do everything in their power, including risking their lives, to save those in need. All four branches of the United States military have rescue swimmers, as well as many countries around the world, though duties and titles vary for each. Training to be a rescue swimmer is some of the toughest in the U.S. military: strength, endurance, flexibility, basic medical skills, ability to work as a team, confidence, and a healthy respect for the power of water and nature. This print is a tribute to the men and women saving thousands of lives for the United States military and around the world.
