The beautiful people, abstract faces, contemporary, modern, abstract hot people, colorful faces, unique, print
This brightly colored print, titled after the 1996 Marilyn Manson song, “The Beautiful People,” is from an original drawing by Elizabeth Stempien.
The original artwork was drawn in permanent fine point black marker, colored in with the best quality colored pencils, and printed on acid free, lightly textured, 110 lb. weight paper.
This piece was inspired by my interest in abstract portraits and faces. I first became interested in the abstract face when I came across Picasso's hot 1932 piece, “Girl Before a Mirror,” which was painted during his Cubism period. At this time, Picasso was part of a new and exciting movement in art, Modernism, which began in the 1880's. Along with artists Edward Munch, Gustav Klimt, and Marc Chagall, they strived to break boundaries of traditional art, and were very successful!
I hope you enjoy this piece as much as I did creating it!
