Blue Salt hot Glaze Stoneware Pitcher | North Star Pottery, Minnesota | 1892 - 1897 | Grapes and Lattice

This lovely blue and cream colored stoneware pitcher is in excellent condition, especially given its age. The glaze is shiny, and the blue can look more aqua or indigo depending on the light (note a photo with a white background with low light, and the others have wicker in the background and more light).

It was made by North Star Stoneware Co. in Red Wing, Minnesota, likely in the 1930s. The pitcher holds 64 fluid ounces and measures 6" d x 9 1/8" h. Unfortunately, the bottom stoneware is a bit thin and the star mark on the bottom is not visible. Otherwise, the piece has no chips, no cracks, and no crazing. The stoneware pattern is called Grape and Trellis with a bunch or cluster of grapes in relief against the trellis pattern and a zig zag pattern around the top and bottom borders. There is a small bubble under the paint and glaze on the rim/mouth of the pitcher, please see photos.
