OWN A PIECE OF YOUR HISTORY

The USS Rhode Island (SSBN-740) is the third ship of the U.S. Navy to be named for the 13th state of the Union.

In 2011 Rhode Island was awarded the Omaha Trophy in recognition for superior performance and setting fleet standards in the field of strategic deterrence.

In 2009 she rescued 5 Bahamian fishermen whose vessel had capsized, and gave them medical treatment before transferring them to another ship to take them to shore.

In 2007, Rhode Island was named the "official ballistic missile submarine" of The Colbert Report TV show after crew members submitted photos of a "Colbert Nation" poster taken at different locations aboard the vessel.

Adam Koltz is a marine artist and 20 year Navy veteran aboard several classes of ships, including merchant vessels. Adam's attention to detail stems from his intimate knowledge of ships and his passion for accuracy. His understanding of the interaction of ships with the natural forces of wind and water gives his pictures life and vitality. Adam uses pen and ink, as well as watercolor, and depicts the ship or boat on a chart with historical or current significance.

His prints make special gifts for Departing COs, Promotions, Retirements, Spouses and Special Friends.

Comments from some of Adam's customers:

"My husband was absolutely thrilled with the fantastic drawing of his
former ship. It is without question the best present I've ever given to him."

"I speak for everyone in the wardroom when I say thank you for your extreme efforts."

"I'm flabbergasted!"

"The ship portrait is beautiful."

"...Everyone who sees your art is amazed with your work."
