Vintage Eiwa Kinsei Dragon Phoenix bowls and saucers set Made in Japan. Sold as set.
Set includes of 4 small bowls and 4 saucers.
These beautiful hand-painted rice bowls and saucers treasures are absolutely stunning. Each depicts a red dragon and a phoenix comprised of all of the primary colors. The striking design is hand painted in bright colors of iron red, royal blue, yellow, and a bit of green. The phoenix bird is graceful and flowing, the dragon highly detailed. Additional images wrap around to the sides of the bowl and saucer which include scroll clouds and wisps of dragon's breath. A greek key pattern wraps around the top.
The Dragon and Phoenix are two of the most powerful of the four Chinese celestial animals. Dragon is "yang" while Phoenix is "yin", and they complement each other in creating yin-yang balance.
Red marks underneath "Japan".

Each bowl is 4 1/4" in diameter x 2 1/4" tall
Each saucer/plate is 6” in diameter
