Vintage Japanese Natural Rice Straw Woven Bag circa 1950’s with Handsewn hot Kasuri Ikat Indigo Top Band & Handles
If you like handmade items with a cultural essence and a bit of history, this is a beautiful --and rare-- accessory you will want to add to your collection: Hand-woven from natural Japanese rice straw (inewara in japanese) probably in the 1950's, this wonderfully versatile bag is still in really really barely used great shape. A piece of Japanese hand-dyed, hand-woven kasuri or ikat indigo cloth (YUM) is delicately hand-sewn around the top edge, providing a subtle dash of panache while simultaneously protecting the edges from wear. The handle is formed by braided rice straw. The proportions are lovely: measures 8" high x 12" wide and the bottom measures 4" x 11". NOTE: This items ships via hot USPS Priority for a fee, but additional insurance on full value will be covered at no additional charge to the client.
