This is the first electric chafing dish. There are others like it on the market but not as old. If you look at picture with patent date, only one is listed. Other ones like it have more than one. It is made of heavy gauge copper and nickel with ebony wood and brass handles. I left patina the way I acquired it. Landers hot, Frary & Clark.
