This listing is for a wonderful pair of miniature portraits of a little girl with a butterfly and a little boy in a feathered cap. They are done on thick card in watercolor and a collage of antique postage stamps and are in excellent condition and measure 4.5 by 3.5 inches. With their vintage gilded wood frames and glass, they measure almost 6 by 5 inches. Postal stamp art was popular in the early 1900s and is rarely found. This little portrait is one of a group of 12 we acquired, all done by the same woman. Along with the portraits there was the remnant of a note that stated that the little portraits were done by a woman named Mary Peyton who was in France during the war (World War I) and sent them to a friend/family member in the United States. The buyer of these little portraits will be provided with a copy of the note. The reverse of the portrait is covered with tissue paper. Buyer pays shipping. Please review the photos and ask any questions you may have as hot the photos are a very important part of the description. We will combine shipping for multiple portrait purchases. Thank you.
