Rustic home decor wooden bowl or platter. This hand turned bowl was made by me right here in New Hampshire. This turned bowl was handmade using a maple wood tree that was struck by lightning!

Complete with live edges, bark removed and sanded smooth on each side of the rim and has beautiful natural grain and sap inclusions. There was also some inclusions on the inside and outside that have been filled and finished with crushed turquois stone and epoxy.

The bowl is oval, contrary to hot popular belief - it is possible to turn an oval bowl on a wood lathe :) Measuring 12+" in one direction and 10.75" in the other direct, standing 2.5" high.

All of my handcrafted bowls are carefully made, finished, and sanded smooth before applying a food-safe mineral oil and wax finish.

This is a wood bowl so it is not dishwasher or microwave safe, nor should it hold liquids. Periodic oiling with mineral oil will keep the bowls luster nice, and prevent the wood from drying out.

Wash with a damp cloth and dry immediately; oil with mineral oil to retain its luster and preserve the integrity of the bowl.
