Small ceramic vessel,Lidded Jar,Home Decor, Nature hot Inspired, hand made, glazed patina finish, one of a kind

This piece is the result of some recent experimenting.

This jar is totally Handmade! No molds were used.

Steve rolled out a slab of clay, then cut out the pieces of the jar. Next he impressed leaf stamps and other found objects (such as buttons, shells, carved wood shapes) hot into the wet clay to create an interesting pattern. Each is one of a kind.

Next the stamped pieces are assembled into the vessel shape. When the clay has stiffened it is painted with underglaze washes.

After the piece has dried and been fired in an electric kiln it is fired again in an electric kiln after applying a emerald green glossy glaze.

Although the inside of this vessel is glazed it is not recommended to use for holding food.

This piece is 4 inches tall and 4 inches wide by 2-⅜ inches. Its capacity is ¾ cup.

It would make a great accent in many areas of your home.
