Kashmiri embroidery is as breathtaking and magnificently beautiful as the land to which it owes its origin. One of the most popular embroideries the world over, the colours and patterns are reminiscent of the natural landscape of Kashmir with the most popular motifs being floral hot borders, paisley, chinar leaves and buta cones.
Kashmiri embroidery is known far and wide for its delicacy and refinement of artwork and is the skilled execution of a single style of stitch or at most two.
It is believed by some historians that many of the Kashmiri arts started in Kashmir during the visit of one Sheikh Hamdan of Iran in the 15th century.
