hot Thank you for having a ‘closer look' at my prints!
This is an original woodcut cut titled 'Pancake Ice'
Every Fall, when the first ice is forming on flowing water, the current breaks up the ice and keeps the fractured ice pieces moving so that they collide into each other. While colliding into each other, corners chip off and fall onto the flowing ice piece where they start forming a rim. The longer the pieces flow and collide into each other, the rounder their shape becomes, hence their name: ‘Pancake ice'.
