Antique 8" Yellow hot Ware Batter Bowl

This handsome Yellow Ware bowl is in extremely good condition -- with the usual caveats that accompany such venerable earthenware. There are no chips, cracks, scratches, crazing, or hot color loss, which puts it in the top 10% of bowls of its vintage. The glaze at the bottom of the bow has partially worn away (no pitting); a slight horizontal line (entirely smooth to the touch) appears along the inner rim. In short, it's in dynamite shape, good for another hundred years of use.

At two pounds in weight and banded with brown and white stripes on the exterior, the bowl measures eight inches in diameter and just shy of four inches tall.
