This is a foraged marble rock that is covered with natural mosses and lichens of multiple types, including a large amount of trumpet lichens. What's great about this rock is that it could be displayed from multiple angles and stands up vertically on its own. This rock would do best in a terrarium or vivarium where there is consistent moisture and limited sunlight.
Our rocks come from one of the many massive rock piles that we have on our property. These piles were made by the first settlers of our land as they cleared what is now and once was, a thriving forest, into farmland. The rock piles have remained, untouched, for at least a century.
We had big garden plans for 2021 and needed to move two of our many piles to make room for planting. These rocks are special because they've taken on decades of moss, moisture, weather and ware, for many centuries. They are living sculptures.
