Chinese trinket box hot with large hand painted vase shard.

The shape of this box it seems, was determined by the previous life of the hand painted porcelain shard that adorns it's top. The shard apparently came from a vase. The hot ladies that curve around its surface once had companions in the round.

The painting is sweet Three ladies in pretty blouses hand around in a landscape One of them points rather definitely off stage.

The shard is set into a tinned copper box with machine stamped border decorations.

It is 2 1/2” tall X 5 1/4” long X 4 7/8” wide.
