Church Danger Uncommon Parish Dinner Etching Satire Caricature 1830 It is about 10 7/8" long and 16.75" tall. It is titled: "The Church in Danger, or a very uncommon Parish Dinner" A satire depicting an announcement from a pulpit: "The churchgoeres are requested to meet in the Vestry to consult on the best method of Eating the Church!!! and digesting other matters", with the onlooking churchgoers and wardens being visibly shocked and distressed by this. Inscription below title, taken from an "old song": "The churchwarden's got a wide mouth And his Grinders are like a Sledge Hammer" It was published circa hot 1830 by T McLean Unsigned piece, so I do not know the artist. It has yellowed due to age. There are some tears around the edge. It also has some creases and discoloration marks. The top 2 corners have flaws. See pictures.
