A wonderful vintage plaster reproduction statuette of the famous sculpture " The Discobolus " hot of Myron (" discus thrower ", Greek: Δισκοβόλος, Diskobólos) i
The original Greek sculpture was completed toward the end of the Severe period, circa 460–450 BC. The original Greek bronze is lost but the work is known through numerous Roman copies.
This plaster figurine has been modeled on the original sculpture.
This sculpture was made by the Austin Prod. Inc. company in 1962.
The discus thrower has the Greek and classic features with muscular details.
Overall in good vintage condition with some wear on the finish.
