Zuni Roadrunner Pin Inlay hot Mosiac Sterling Silver Bird Brooch Animal Figural Native American Indian Jewelry Boho Gift for Her

Zuni roadrunner brooch. The craftsmanship in this piece is hot amazing - a combination of inlay and channel setting of turquoise, shell, jet, mother of pearl, oyster shell creates a colorful mosaic. The center turquoise bird body is ribbed adding another dimension to the pin.

The roadrunner is an important symbol in Native American culture and believed to ward off evil and also a sign of good luck.

This pin is in the style of Hopi artisan Merle Edaakie. See page 61 of FIGURAL DESIGNS IN ZUNI JEWELRY by Toshio Sei. His pieces were unsigned as is this one. (There is marker writing on the back but I cannot tell if they are meant to be letters or numbers)

Comes in gift box with a silver polish cloth. Will gift wrap upon request.

Excellent condition. Fastens well. Gently cleaned, but I leave patina for those who prefer the natural aged look.
