Advice and care of opal

Opal is a very fragile stone that requires special maintenance.

It contains up to 30% water and is difficult to withstand temperature changes. It is essential to never soak it in detergent or even water. When you are not wearing it, be sure to store it in a small plastic bag containing a cotton pad soaked in water, so your opal will retain all its moisture. Otherwise, the opal dries and literally loses its color irreversibly.
