Deep navy background with closely spaced butterflies and flowers that are embossed then hand painted. The lid has the same pattern as the body of the vase. Absolutely breathtaking vase. The top and bottom have a repeating pattern around opening and base. No chips or cracks. Signs of normal wear on bottom.
