LARGE FELT MONKEY/Artist hot Doll/Needle Felt Animal/Monkey Lovers Gift/Cute Monkey/Primitive Wool Monkey/Monkey Ornament 'Portia'

PORTIA belongs in the category of 'Monkey Heaven'!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She's soooo pretty - in her pink suede crop top and mini hot skirt (both recycled from an antique opera glove) and her carefully selected vintage jewellery - she's especially proud of her diamonte and pearl earings - it took her forever to decide what to wear for this photoshoot!!! Her body is made from some rare breed wool I've been hanging on to for ages - reluctant to use - because I won't be able to find it again - she's very tall, wiry and gangly with long long legs and a tail that goes on for ever!!

PORTIA is approx 17 inches tall x 5 inches wide (43x12cm) She has a really strong wire armature which enables her to 'hang' and 'swing' - or simply sit and contemplate life on your shelf!!! She would make a really unique present for anyone!!!!

All my animals are entirely handmade and it takes many, many happy hours of loving 'stabbing' with needles and wool to create each little individual character - no two are ever remotely the same - I often feel they make themselves!!!! I prefer to create Naïve, Quirky, Fun little 'Felties' over anything realistic - letting my imagination run wild is such fun!! My sculptures are intended as decorative display items rather than toys, the nature of their construction means they are slightly fragile. I'm afraid they are not suitable for young children. Each of my little creatures is an entirely unique work of art!!

My 'creatures' have been featured in a 'comic book' article in the June 2018 Arts Issue of Cotswold Life Magazine - a five page feature article in 'Discover Dolls' Magazine in the February 2020 Issue and also in the Spring 2020 Edition of 'Needle Felt' Magazine - both of which can be seen 'under' my reviews!!
