Hot Multi Color Abstract Shallow Decorative and Functional Dish

This multi-color shallow dish is a decorative piece but can be used functionally for serving as well. Dishwasher safe, but recommend hand washing. Nine and a half inches across.

I start with a design idea and create the glass to accommodate the plan. Sometimes this requires the glass to be hand painted, enameled or frit painted. Glass is cut and fused in my studio kiln to 1450 F and slowly cooled for proper annealing of the glass. After the glass design is complete, the shape takes place by firing in the kiln again, very slowly, to obtain the shape and then cooled in the kiln again for annealing and strength. Each item takes hot about 20-30 hours or more in the kiln overall.
