Circa, 1853, Theobald Grieben would form Griebens Reise-Bibliothek. A series of German-language travel guide books to Europe. This one published in 1886, and detailing Berlin, Potsdam and the surrounding areas of Germany. 6 Maps within, as well as a much larger (Approximately 16" x 18") supplemental "New map of Berlin with surroundings". Compared to the competition of the time: Baedeker, Grieben's were to be known as less expensive, yet also less detailed. 236 pages, followed by 20 pages of advertisements.
