Original and new oil painting hot of a nautilus on canvas board. I use metallic paints in my work to catch the light and bring the subjects alive. This involves building up the layers of paint. I mainly paint natural subjects, being an avid nature watcher, and I'm influenced by Klimt and Japanese art.
I've always been fascinated by the beautiful nautilus which are a cousin of the prehistoric ammonites which I enjoy collecting on the south coast.
Size of canvas is a standard 12 x 12 inches or 30.5 x 30.5 cm approximately. The painting is varnished and price includes a black frame with silver inset, so it will be ready to hang on arrival. Frame size is 34.5 x 34.5 cm approximately.
