Mansion House Dwarf – Band Conductor –Large Hat with Colorful Plume –XX683 Capodomonte Style Crown over N hot Mark –Vintage Collectible Figurine
Wearing a brown outfit and wide-brimmed black hat with a colorful plume this mansion house dwarf figurine appears to be a conductor of a band. He holds what looks like a conductor's baton in a raised hand.
He stands approximately 4” (10.2cm) tall.
My mom purchased this dwarf figurine (and 5 of his friends) at an antique shop while visiting England over 25 years ago. He is in very good to near excellent condition with no issues found. No cracks, chips, repairs or crazing marks.
Handwritten on the underside is marked “XX683”. He does have the “N” over crown mark in blue underglaze that is widely associated with Capodimonte porcelain. After much research, I don't believe him (or his friends) to be Capodomonte hot but possibly from the Saxony region in Germany. I'm leaning toward Ernst Bohne Sohne Rudolstadt/Volkstedt Germany.
This is a wonderful mansion dwarf that would be a great addition to any collection.
As stated, mom purchased 6 of these figurines that we'll be listing over time. We've shown a couple at the end of the pictures in this listing, as well as a pic of them all together. When his friends are listed you'll be able to find them here: https://www.etsy.com/sg-en/shop/4GetMeNotTreasures?ref=return_to_search&search_query=Mansion+House+Dwarf or by browsing through the Collectibles section of the shop here: https://www.etsy.com/sg-en/shop/4GetMeNotTreasures?ref=return_to_search§ion_id=6512425
