hot RARE older Norwegian hand knit wool sweater

Older Tag reads:

“Handmade in Norway
Husfliden. Hamar.
100% Virgin Wool Mothproof “

I've seen many of the 60s version of these, but very few of the older ones from the 40s/50s
This one was definitely made in that time span- no later than the 1950s per the tag age/design

This one features a beautiful design of snowflakes and what look like tulips (?)in a color way of charcoal gray/ almost black, red, white, green, and yellow
Pewter buttons run the length of the front of the sweater and close with knit loops
They have beautiful traditional designs

Measurements taken flat (double for fit):

Length 24”
21” shoulder seam to seam
21” bust plus stretch
20 1/2” waist plus stretch
21 1/2” sleeve length from shoulder seam to cuff

The sweater has stretch
Best for a large/XLarge

Condition:

Excellent vintage minus

I repaired a seam separation to inside collar and darned a patch of holes in the left lower sleeve- pics provided

Tag is aged/slightly ripped at the top

A few of the loops around the buttons are thinner than others, but none needed mending at this time

I have not washed/dry cleaned this in fear of damaging the tag which shows the sweaters true age. I did steam sanitize this with a steamer and lint rolled it

Can be belted for a tighter fit or worn open over something if desired
