***************************

A little history ...: The great industrial and artistic adventure of the Bernardaud manufacture began in 1863 in a region that has the three essential elements for the manufacture of porcelain: kaolin, fresh water and forests.
It all began when two Limousin industrialists, encouraged by the increase in the use of porcelain tableware, the adoption of coal as fuel and the development of the railway, founded a factory. Within the workshops, an apprentice is noticed. His name: Léonard Bernardaud. Twenty years later, having become head of commercial services, he joined forces with the two founders who recognized in him the worthy heir of their heritage.

Today, Bernardaud is one of the last porcelain factories in Limoges whose capital remains in the hands of the founding family, and which ensures to respect the philosophy of its predecessors: maintain and enhance know-how, keep intact the taste for innovation and be creative.
